Executive President

Yolmo Kagyu Sangag Latsog Kathmandu, Nepal

F lourishing from the historical and sacred place, Bayul Yolmo's Gochangling Monastery, the throne holding Chief Lama Karma Chhosang's four sons and seven grandsons, have been upholding their Yarlung Dynasty and monarchical rites, rituals and Kagyu sect of Mahayana Buddhism. Yolmo Kagyu Sagnag Latsok is established, in 1986, to preserve Mahayana/ Vajrayana's Kagyu sects, the language of Yolmopa, rites, rituals, customs, traditions and 34 monasteries of the Yarlung Dynasty.

Patron of the Latsok and Chief Lama of Yolmo Kanying Shedup Ling Monastery, Karma Reyjung Yolmopa Rinpoche had met the 14th Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, with the initiative of the Ven. Kusho Chhechu Rinpoche in 2000, and informed as well as submitted a proposal to erect Central Monastery in Yolmo Region. According to the proposal, Shamar Rinpoche bestowed and funded Rs. 10,00,000/- in 2001, but the Monastery has not been erected due to various reasons.

Due to the catastrophic earthquake followed by several aftershocks has completely sabotaged the entire building of the ancient and historical monastery and stupas, including other various religious heritages. The Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee and the Federal Affair of Nepal Government has categorized this monastery in ‘A’ level and proposed to grant the sum of Rs. 1,05,40,000/- for its reconstruction. So, to make Yolmo Kanying Shedup Ling Monastery as the central monastery of Yolmo region and the institute (Densa) for Karmapa and Shamarnag, we allocated Rs. 25,00,000/- after including 10,00,000/- from Shamar Rinpoche and 15,00,000/- from Latsok.

In this way, we wish that our efforts will be the platform for developing Buddhism of Mahayana's Kagyu and Nyingmapa sects in Yolmo region. May all ventures of Chief Lama Ven. Acharya Dawa Sangbo Yolmopa produce good fruit! Bhavatu Sarva Mangalam!
