The Monastery turned into debris by the Earthquake

However, the devastating earthquake, occurred on April 25th and 26th, 2015, followed by several aftershocks has completely destroyed the entire building of this historic monastery and stupas, including other various religious heritages. Due to this, all the religious activities those have been conducting by this monastery on regular basis along with its social services and teachings have been completely interrupted.

This monastery is a national heritage of Nepal. And it is of utmost importance from the perspective of its cultural, religious and touristy value. Thus, it is a moral responsibility of all stakeholders, government and all those want to prevail peace throughout the world to preserve this kind of historical monastery. After the earthquake hit, the Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee and the Federal Affair of Nepal Government has categorized this monastery in ‘A’ level and allocated to grant the sum of 1,05,40,000/- Rs for its reconstruction.
